About Katie

My grandfather was a photographer, my mom was a photographer, and me? Well, I have always been drawn to art, design, color, and light, and photography found me. It must be in my blood. I’ve been a wedding photographer for 10 years and counting and my love for it has never been stronger.

I love shooting in natural light, and over time I’ve acquired a knack for using that natural light to my absolute advantage. When I find the perfect spot and most flattering angle, I simply lead my couple there, let them be who they are, and we come out with killer images at the end of it. I can’t count the number of times that I have heard someone say, “Katie, I am so awkward in front of the camera,” or “I don’t know what to do in front of the camera, can you tell me what to do?” My promise is always the same: I’ll make it completely easy for you, and I’m going to make you look really, really good.

I get a huge rush from the joyful energy around me on an exciting wedding day. There is just nothing like it. I’ve also found that some of my very best work has come about when I hadn’t had the time to plan out or construct an image before it happened – and there is an overflowing abundance of spontaneously beautiful moments that present themselves on a wedding day, just WAITING for me to capture them.

Each wedding has its own energy and pacing, and aside from getting the very important must-have images of you with your family, I have a very easy and comfortable approach when it comes to photographing your wedding, and I arrive to capture it all in a non-mechanical and unmanufactured way. When your wedding is over, each and every image that comes back to you is infused with a memory or a moment that happened while you weren’t even looking.
